“The towering Pagoda draws our attention skyward. As it billows in the breeze it nurtures a sense of calm and serenity, inviting us to contemplate the present moment.”
This architectural, aerial sculpture was inspired by the traditional Asian pagoda and Zen design principles. The piece debuted at Body & Soul festival in Ireland before touring to some of the best festivals in Europe including: Noisily, Latitude, Camp Bestival, Bestival, Wilderness and Electric Picnic. The Pagoda has also been exhibited at The Bowes Museum.
It is my largest installation to date at 8m long by 4m wide. The piece was designed to be adaptable. The modular frames allow for the size of the piece to change to suit the setting while the white fabric ensured that the piece could be lit any colour. The custom designed lighting system allows for the colours and patterns to be programmed differently for every event.
